Sustainable websites with
little footprint &
big impact
LittleBigThings creates fast and delightful websites
with care for the environment & our privacy.
LittleBigThings has built
- isala.be: a multilingual site with thousands of members for the citizen science project at the University of Antwerp, designed by Studio Maria
- prijsderletteren.org: a website for the Taalunie for the ‘Prijs der Nederlandse Letteren’ to enable them to showcase new laureates and keep an archive of past winners of the prize
- belsocmicrobio.be: a membership site for the Belgian Society for Microbiology to organise events for members and other microbiologists and scientists
- cafyr.uantwerpen.be: a multilingual website for a research about children’s books at the UAntwerp
- globalwarning.blog: a tiny blog about the impact of the internet on climate change and how to build sustainable websites
With LittleBigThings I build sites that only need minimal amount of data to load. They are simple, fast and user-friendly. They respect visitors by using privacy-friendly analytics and only if necessary. I specialise in WordPress membership sites for non-profits and universities and in WordPress multisite for diverse use cases.
I occasionally write about web design and take digital climate action. I contribute to WordPress as a team rep for the Sustainability team. I try to limit LittleBigThings’ environmental impact by taking the bike, travelling responsibly, using my equipment as long as possible and planting trees.
